Event Participation Terms and Conditions

These Terms and Conditions (hereinafter referred to as the "Terms") apply to all participants (the "Participants") of events (the "Events") organized and operated by the Startup Lady Association (the "Association"). These Terms apply equally to both online and offline Events. By participating, Participants are deemed to have agreed to these Terms.


Article 1 (Changes and Cancellation)

  1. The Association may amend these Terms without prior notice.

  2. The Association may change the content or schedule of the Events without prior notice. In such cases, Participants will be notified via the Association’s website, event site, or other methods determined by the Association.

  3. The Association may cancel the Events due to natural disasters, infectious disease outbreaks, operational reasons, or other unavoidable circumstances. Participants will be notified accordingly.


Article 2 (Application and Eligibility)

  1. Applications will be invalid in the following cases:

    • False or misleading information in the application

    • Fraudulent activities such as unauthorized access or misuse

    • Automated applications as determined by the Association

    • Violation of these Terms

    • Any other case deemed inappropriate by the Association

  2. The Association shall not be liable for damages resulting from invalid applications.

  3. The Association shall not be liable for issues caused by communication devices, networks, or environments, except in cases of willful misconduct or gross negligence.

  4. Participation rights may not be transferred to third parties.


Article 3 (Prohibited Acts)

Participants shall not engage in the following acts. Violators may be warned or asked to leave:

  • Disrupting event operations

  • Harassment, discrimination, defamation against others

  • Religious or political solicitation

  • Acts contrary to laws or public order and morals

  • Eating, drinking, or smoking in prohibited areas

  • Excessive solicitation or harassment

  • Recording or photography without the Association’s permission

  • Any other acts deemed inappropriate by the Association

The Association shall not be liable for any damages caused by such measures.


Article 4 (Copyrights)

  1. The Association may record or photograph the Events.

  2. All copyrights of photographs, videos, articles, and related content belong to the Association or its contractors.

  3. Participants agree that their likeness, remarks, and materials may be used for promotional, educational, or archival purposes without asserting portrait rights or claiming compensation.


Article 5 (Disclaimer)

  1. The Association shall not be responsible for accidents, theft, illness, or other incidents during participation, except in cases of willful misconduct or gross negligence.

  2. Participants who cause damage by violating these Terms shall be liable for compensation.

  3. Disputes between Participants and third parties shall be resolved by the Participants themselves.


Article 6 (Personal Information)

The Association will handle Participants’ personal information in accordance with its Privacy Policy. Participation constitutes consent to such handling.


Article 7 (Exclusion of Antisocial Forces)

Participants guarantee that they are not and will not be involved with antisocial forces. If found otherwise, participation will be denied.


Article 8 (Governing Law and Jurisdiction)

These Terms shall be governed by Japanese law. The Tokyo District Court shall have exclusive jurisdiction as the court of first instance.


Article 9 (Special Provisions for Sponsors and Speakers)

  1. These Terms also apply to sponsors and speakers, who are subject to the same prohibitions, disclaimers, and antisocial force exclusion provisions as Participants.

  2. Sponsors and speakers agree that their materials, presentations, and remarks may be used by the Association for promotional, educational, and archival purposes.

  3. Sponsors and speakers guarantee that their contributions do not infringe on third-party rights. Any disputes shall be resolved at their own responsibility and cost.

  4. If sponsors or speakers violate these Terms or any separate agreement, the Association reserves the right to cancel participation, terminate agreements, and seek damages.
